FSC offers several Hunter/Trapper Education (HTE) classes through the year on Club grounds with our member instructors along with other certified instructors participating. International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) certified instructors through the Pa. Game Commission offer first time Hunters & Trappers the lessons and prepare students for the test to receive the requirement in order to acquire their Hunting or Trapping license.
The basic HTE class covers the safety aspect of the use of hunting and trapping sporting arms and devices along with safety in the field. The basic course also touches on a few tactics used to be a successful hunter or trapper.
The required student certification is also needed by experienced already licensed Hunters or Trappers that may want to get a license in another state.
There is always a need for additional instructors, if interested in becoming an instructor please see the links below or speak to Club POCs/instructors. Please refer to our schedule / event calendars for the next class being held at the club.
There is no cost for the basic Hunter/Trapper education course, and registration for the classes is through the Pa. Game Commission website.
